Education     Music educator- I am a music educator utilizing a number of avenues to turn people on to the liberating spirit of music. In 2002 I realized a long-term dream of starting a music education program that utilized musical experiences as a tool for personal and spiritual development. The program was called Music, the Magic Science and several different versions for different age groups were offered in Seattle area community centers and schools. We worked with young adults, pre schoolers, and at risk teens. We focused on integrative learning with an emphasis on hands on experiences. We worked on communication and listening skills with hand drumming. We developed self-esteem and built confidence through hip hop production. We explored self-awareness and expression through creative lyric writing. Utilizing music as an educational tool , we learned about culture, history, science, social history and current events.     Workshops-I have broken several of the components of the Music, the Magic Science program into smaller workshops that can be presented at schools, community, centers, retreats, recovery centers, correctional facilities and churches. Please contact me for more info.     Educational Lectures-I offer in depth talks on the transformational power of music and how it can heal the spiritual divisions within us. These talks cover music history, its healing and spiritual aspects, physiology, and the educational uses of music. I also offer talks on living creatively, the death and rebirth of the music industry, music and social movements, and specific aspects of music history.     Bass Guitar Lessons-I have been teaching bass lessons for almost ten years. From basic groove technique, to double thumbing and two handed tapping, my bass lessons cover a wide range of practical techniques. I emphasize the development of improv and listening skills, as well as the often-neglected spiritual side of making music.     Bass Guitar Clinics-I love to teach others just how expressive the electric bass guitar can be. I have developed an educational bass clinic utilizing solo bass compositions that highlight specific techniques. Past bass clinics have included a performance for Marleaux Bass Guitars at the National Association of Music Merchants(NAMM) trade show in Anaheim, CA.     Educational Mix Tapes-Ask any of my close friends and they will vouch for my ability to turn out a slamming mix tape or CD of just about any style of music. With so much great music being lost in the shuffle of life, I decided to assemble mixes for those seeking a deeper exposure to a given style. Whether you need a mix of positive hip hop for your rec center, a meditative ambient mix for yoga, or a funk inoculation for your fourth graders, I can hook you up.
